Description:
This workshop focuses on carving and texture techniques for leather-hard clay. Students will explore a variety of carving tools and approaches to create deep textures, organic patterns, and intricate surface designs.

Instruction will include tool selection, carving depth, timing, and how clay moisture affects results. Students will work directly on their own leather-hard pieces while receiving individualized guidance throughout the session.

 

What to Bring: 3-5 leather-hard pieces ready for carving

Included: Studio carving tools and texture tools

 

Perfect For: Potters who want to add visual depth and expressive texture to their work through carving.

 

Optional Studio-Provided Pieces Add-On:

  • $40 — 3 leather-hard pieces provided

    • Includes glazing and firing completed by the studio after the workshop
