Jan 19 — Mastering Brush-On Glazes

Format: Bring Your Own Work Workshop Series

Level: Advanced Beginner / Intermediate

Schedule: 6:00–8:00 PM
Class Size: Max 6 students

Description:
Brush-on glazes can produce rich, layered, professional-quality surfaces when used intentionally. In this hands-on workshop, students will learn how to get the most out of commercial brush-on glazes through proper application, layering strategies, and testing methods.

We’ll cover how to avoid common issues such as streaking, pinholing, and uneven coverage, as well as how to build depth and variation using multiple coats. Students will glaze their own bisqueware using a curated selection of Amaco, Mayco, and Spectrum glazes.

What to Bring: Up to 3 medium-sized bisqueware pieces (mug or cereal bowl sized) or 5 small pieces (bud vases, small cups)

Included: Brush-on glazes (Amaco, Mayco, Spectrum), Brushes and glazing tools

Perfect For: Potters who want more consistent, confident glaze results using commercial brush-on glazes.

Optional Studio-Provided Pieces Add-On:

  • $40 — 3 bisqueware pieces thrown and trimmed by Tori
