Weds., Jan. 28, 2026 — Beginner Kudzu Basketry

Level: Beginner

Schedule: 5:30pm - 8:30pm
Class Size: Max 6 students
Cost: $55

This bite-sized basketry class is perfect for beginners who are curious about weaving but aren’t ready for a longer class. In this three-hour workshop, you’ll be introduced to the basics of basketry using kudzu vine. We’ll cover foundational techniques such as twining and three-rod wale, and you’ll use these skills to create a small, functional basket with a simple handle. We will discuss foraging for basketry materials and the many uses of kudzu – an abundant, non-native plant here in the Southeastern USA.

No prior basketry experience is needed. All materials are provided, and you’ll leave with a finished basket and a solid understanding of core weaving techniques you can build on in future projects.
